Gwalior is one of the important cities of central India. It is situated in a state of Madhya Pradesh.
It has many historical places and monuments including world famous Gwalior Fort, Jai Vilas palace, etc. Gwalior has a graceful history. Its history starts from the rule of Tomars to Mughals, then to Scindias.
It is also known as education hub of central India. A huge number of different disciplines are being taught in a large number of colleges and universities spread in the entire city of Gwalior.
Gwalior was also served as the winter capital of Madhya Bharat and became part of Madhya Pradesh. Until Indian independence on 14 August 1947, Gwalior was one of the five princely states the British Raj with Scindia as the local ruler.
